šŸ” Privacy Policy

We don’t want your data, we just want your heart. But legally speaking, here’s how we handle cookies, emails, and accidental oversharing.

Last updated: 01.08.2025

RABAGAS Magazine takes your privacy seriously — but not in a corporate surveillance way. We’re not interested in harvesting your data to sell you artisanal toothpaste or track your zine-reading habits. Here’s what we do (and don’t) do with your information.

1. Who We Are

We are RABAGAS, a small, independent publication run by humans, fueled by readers, and occasionally guided by rogue AI (but only the good kind). Our site lives at rabagas.ghost.io.

2. What We Collect (and Why)

We collect only what we need to make the magazine work, improve your experience, and respond to your submissions, love notes, hate mail, or classified ads.

We may collect:

  • Email address (if you subscribe, donate, submit, or write us)
  • Name or pseudonym (if you give us one)
  • Payment details (handled securely via Stripe — we never see your full info)
  • Your submission content (obviously)
  • Basic analytics (pageviews, clicks, etc., via Ghost’s built-in tools)

We do not:

  • Track you across the web
  • Sell your info to advertisers
  • Read your mind (yet)

3. Cookies

We use the bare minimum of cookies necessary to make the site run smoothly. These are mostly from Ghost or Stripe (for payments). We don’t use creepy ad trackers, and we don't follow you around the internet like a desperate startup.

You can adjust your browser settings to block cookies if you'd like. The site may still work — or it may get slightly confused. (It’s okay, we all do.)

4. Payments & Security

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store or handle your full payment information on our servers.

Our website uses HTTPS and standard encryption practices. Your info is stored safely, and we’ll do everything we can to protect it — unless you submit it via carrier pigeon, in which case we make no promises.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted services like:

  • Ghost (for publishing)
  • Stripe (for payments)
  • Jotform or Tally (for submissions)
  • Email services (for newsletters)

These services may collect limited data to function. We only partner with platforms we trust not to sell your data to Big Mustard.

6. Accessing or Deleting Your Info

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from newsletters at any time
  • Email us if you want your data deleted
  • Ask us what we know about you (spoiler: probably very little)

Write to thejtv@proton.me with ā€œDATA REQUESTā€ in the subject line and Ragna will take care of it — possibly with flair.

7. Kids Under 16

RABAGAS is not intended for anyone under 16. If you're a teen art prodigy trying to submit something, please get permission from a responsible adult (or at least a very cool uncle).

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or changes in Ragna’s mood. If we do, we’ll update the ā€œLast Updatedā€ date. Keep an eye on it if you're the careful type.
